Mr. Sayed was a Co-founding engineer of the CIGS Flexible solar cells in 1994, and commenced as a material science engineer. Over his career he served in many positions within the company and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in May 2008. Prior to joining GSHK Solar, Mr. Sayed served, from October 2001 until April 2004, as Chief Executive Officer and Director of Suzhou GS Solar, which owned and operated power distribution, power generation (both thermal and renewable), natural gas transportation and services, and natural gas distribution businesses in emerging markets worldwide. Prior to that role, Mr. Sayed spent almost a decade in positions that included President and Chief Operating Officer of various renewable energy associations and companies in Canada, US, Asia, Gulf and China and as Assistant General Counsel of GS Solar. He is a member of the Board of China Solar Association . Mr. Sayed holds a PhD. From McGill Univeristy in Material Sciences, an MBA degree from Southern California University and BSc. From Waterloo Univeristy.
